Labour names metro mayor candidates

Andy Burnham and Siôn Simon have been named Labour’s candidates for the first elected mayoral roles in Greater Manchester and the West Midlands.

Andy Burnham and Siôn Simon have been named Labour's candidates for the first elected mayoral roles in Greater Manchester and the West Midlands.

Mr Burnham beat Greater Manchester's interim mayor Tony Lloyd and Bury South MP Ivan Lewis to the candidacy in a vote of local Labour Party members.
