The Labour Party has reversed previous electoral wipe-outs in the south of England to win back key councils.

The Labour Party has reversed previous electoral wipe-outs in the south of England to win back key councils such as Southampton, Plymouth, Reading and Harlow.

After the 2008 local government elections, when Labour lost 435 seats, it was possible to walk from London to Lands End without meeting a Labour councillor.
