Labour set for bad night

With one week to go until polling day for many English councils, indications point to a bad night for Labour. According to The MJ's latest by-election analysis, all three major parties made gains in the first three weeks of April.

But the voting trends point to the Liberal Democrats and Tories being the main winners in the 4 May contests, when more than 4,000 of England's 19,500 seats are up for grabs.
