Islington LBC is set to become one of the first local authorities to charge pubs and bars a late night levy.

Islington LBC is set to become one of the first local authorities to charge pubs and bars a late night levy to meet the costs of tackling drunken behaviour.

The north London borough's executive member for community safety, Cllr Paul Convery, said the authority was seeking to carry out a public consultation on introducing the levy, once new legislation came into force in October.
