Wokingham Council chief executive, Susan Law, is to leave the council. Ms Law joined the authority in November 2007, following the departure of Doug Patterson, and has announced her departure to councillors and officers.

It is understood Ms Law will leave in January 2012. She has led the council during turbulent times, launching a dramatic transformation programme to save £9.5m over three years by shedding 150 jobs, and shaking up the way the council carries out its duties.
