Lawyer questions 'unlikely' reports of £1m compensation for Shoesmith

Newspaper reports of £1m compensation for Sharon Shoesmith are ‘unlikely’, a leading employment lawyer has claimed.

A leading employment lawyer has claimed that newspaper reports of £1m compensation for Sharon Shoesmith, the former head of children's services at Haringey LBC, are 'unlikely'.

Daniel Barnett, an employment barrister at Outer Temple Chambers, said the compensation will reflect what Ms Shoesmith would have earned if the London borough had gone through a fair procedure, rather than dismissing her following the 'Baby P' care.
