Liverpool mayor Joe Anderson's calls for the combined authority to have an elected mayor are expected to be dealt another blow this week.

A motion by Halton BC leader Cllr Rob Polhill submitted to a council meeting on Wednesday asks his fellow members to back his opposition to a metro mayor model for the Liverpool city region.
