Leading the charge on climate action

The Blueprint Coalition’s Manifesto for Local Climate Action outlines four key demands for all political parties as the sector looks ahead to the General Election, says Anthony Payne.

The body representing local transport and environment chiefs, ADEPT, is part of the Blueprint Coalition, an influential alliance of local government organisations, environmental groups and research institutions which first came together in 2019 to champion place-based action on climate change and seek more support for local authority delivery.

We believe it is crucial for politicians and policy-makers to recognise the value of a place-based approach and provide the necessary powers, responsibilities and funding to enable local authorities to lead the charge, working together with communities and businesses.
