Leading UK suppliers take 'upbeat' stance

Two giants of British outsourcing have released upbeat financial statements, despite doubts about the UK economy in general.

Two giants of British outsourcing – Serco and Capita – have released upbeat financial statements, despite widespread doubts about the UK economy in general.

Serco's share price dipped last month after it was reported that the forthcoming Public services reform White Paper would not provide massive outsourcing opportunities, but last week the firm issued an interim management statement, which said it had been awarded £1.6bn of contracts since the beginning of the financial year.
