Links between Somerset and Vendee in France look set to blossom after the county council signed a partnership agreement with its Gallic counterpart.

Somerset CC and the Conseil General of the Vendee have signed a charter of cultural co-operation to help share information and boost tourism in both regions. The councils have released a series of pictures illustrating their similar landscapes as part of the campaign. ‘There are many similarities between the two areas in terms of their natural and built environment,' said council chairman, Cllr Alan Gloak.
