Those with learning disabilities 'not being consulted'

According to Mencap, almost two-thirds of people with learning disabilities do not feel properly consulted over changes to services.

Almost two-thirds of people with learning disabilities do not feel they have been properly consulted by councils over changes to their day service, according to the charity, Mencap.

A survey by the charity found that 64% of adults with a learning disability were not asked for their views on the closure of, cuts to or increased charges for their day service, despite local authorities having a legal obligation to consult with service-users.
