Learning the lessons of past reform

As the Government vows to slash quangos, Mike Palin looks back at previous attempts to cut red tape and considers what lessons we should learn

The Government has published the Infrastructure and Planning Bill which is an important step in enabling greater delivery of its objectives. But capitalising on the Bill will require much broader reform.

As stated in my article in The MJ two weeks ago, the Government's housing and regeneration objectives will only be achieved by having the right triangle of land, funding and technical capability.
