Don't leave cyber security to chance

When it comes to cyber security, it is time we prepared for the worst before it’s too late, writes William Benson.

‘Generals are always prepared to fight the last war' – that was the proverb that was going through my head when I left a breakfast session at the recent Local Government Association (LGA) conference.

I'm not normally one to be up at the crack of dawn – particularly after a heavy night before – but I felt that in my role as the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives (SOLACE) digital spokesperson I should attend a roundtable discussion on cyber security and I'm very glad I did.
