Immigration policy is one of the most important decisions facing the government as it begins to map out life after the EU. The Home Office confirmed that it will be incredibly difficult for foreign nationals to come and work in the UK if they plan to take a job paying less than £25,600.
Care home providers have raised the alarm and their fears are well founded; recruiting and retaining enough staff is already a major headache for the struggling social care sector which has more than 120,000 unfilled jobs, even while employing a quarter of a million overseas workers.
