Leeds pleas for cuts to be spread more evenly

Leeds City Council has lobbied the Government in a bid to improve its grant settlement.

Deputy leader, Cllr Richard Lewis; chief executive, Tom Riordan; and director of resources, Alan Gay, told housing minister, Grant Shapps, their concerns about front-loading and argued that spreading the cuts more evenly across four years would be fairer and more manageable.
