Rochdale MBC has become embroiled in a legal battle in the aftermath of the child sex abuse scandal which led to nine men being imprisoned last year, it emerged this week.

Two private children's care home providers based in the borough have issued a High Court libel writ seeking £416,000 in damages for lost business against Rochdale leader Cllr Colin Lambert and the authority itself.
