A fierce territorial dispute north of the border has thankfully been resolved without bloodshed.

This is not a reference to the times of William Wallace, Robert the Bruce or Rob Roy MacGregor but rather last month's change of leadership at Edinburgh City Council, where the nationalists were ousted by Labour.
