Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) will have to provide greater assurances on how they spend government money after auditors criticised the bodies' transparency.

The Department for Communities and Local Government's (DCLG) latest national LEP assurance framework said expectations had ‘increased' since the previous version of the document two years ago because the organisations have continued to ‘mature' and their role and responsibilities have developed.
