I chose to spend the day before the election of America's 47th President in the sombre setting of the Dealey Plaza in Dallas.  This was the very place where John F Kennedy, America's 35th President, was assassinated on 22 November 1963.

It was the day when ‘the age of innocence died'.  A pivotal moment in American history, that shattered the nation's then sense of security and optimism.  Two generations later, Kennedy's assassination is often depicted as the turning point that ushered in a more cynical and distrustful era in American culture and politics.
