The Government is still ‘reviewing the recruitment process for levelling up directors' despite appointing an ex-Number 10 official to a role with the same title.

Ed Whiting, a former deputy principal private secretary to David Cameron, started as a ‘director in the levelling up policy group' at the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) in Leeds this week.
