The number of councils still producing 'town hall pravdas' has been one of the failures of the DCLG this parliamentary term, local government minister Brandon Lewis has told parliament.

When asked about the top policy successes and failures of his boss, the secretary of state Eric Pickles, Mr Lewis said a 'small number of mainly left-wing councils' were still publishing newspapers and magazines.
