The Local Government Association has announced it will make redundancies following cuts to its top slice funding from central government.

The Local Government Association (LGA) has announced it will make redundancies following cuts to its top slice funding from central government.

The Government announced in March that the association's top-slice cash would fall by £2m from 1 April, as part of the Budget. The announcement – with just 10 days' notice before it came into force – came on top of the £1.5m of top-slice money the LGA had already lost.
