LGA calls for costs to be considered in Spending Review

Local authorities face a further £20bn in cost pressures by 2020, in addition to having their budgets cut, figures from the Local Government Association (LGA) have revealed.

Local authorities face a further £20bn in cost pressures by 2020, in addition to having their budgets cut, figures from the Local Government Association (LGA) have revealed. 

As the Treasury prepares for the November spending review, the LGA has claimed local services could be scaled back or lost completely if the Chancellor does not consider the cost of unfunded burdens.
