LGA calls for top-slice cash back

LGA Chair, Sir Merrick Cockell, pens letter urging education secretary, Michael Gove, to return £150m Early Intervention Grant cash.

The Local Government Association (LGA) has written to education secretary Michael Gove, calling for the return of top sliced cash to local government. 

LGA chairman, Sir Merrick Cockell, has written to Mr Gove asking why £150m is to be removed from council funding in both 2013-14 and 2014-15, claiming there is ‘no justification' for the cut.
