Care funding must be protected if the Government wants to protect the National Health Service, the Local Government Association (LGA) has argued. 

In a submission to the Government in advance of the Comprehensive Spending Review, the association has suggested that continued cuts to adult social care will ultimately lead to costs being shunted onto the acute health sector.
