LGA Conference 2013: electoral registration fund opens for councils

Local authorities invited to bid from cash pot aimed at getting more social housing tenants on the electoral roll.

Local authorities will be able to bid from a cash pot aimed at getting young people and those harder to reach registered on the electoral roll, ministers have announced today.

Speaking at the Local Government Association's conference today, Chloe Smith, minister for political and constitutional reform, will outline details of the £4.2m Innovation Fund targeted at young people aged 16 to 24 and people living in social housing.
