LGA control rules to face scrutiny after Sheffield rejoins

The Local Government Association (LGA) may have to answer questions over its constitution after Sheffield City Council tipped the balance of power back to Labour by re-joining at the 11th hour.

The Local Government Association (LGA) may have to answer questions over its constitution after Sheffield City Council tipped the balance of power back to Labour by re-joining at the eleventh hour. 

As voters went to the polls last week, Sheffield leader Julie Dore, informed the LGA of the city's intention to rejoin – a move which tipped the balance of power back to Labour.
