LGA counts cost of wacky FOIs

The LGA's Christmas top-ten of bizarre freedom of information requests.

Contingency planning for Santa Claus' sleigh making an emergency landing in Cheltenham, zombie attacks in Leicester and the invasion of West Devon by Napoleon have entered the LGA's Christmas top-ten of bizarre freedom of information requests.

According to Smith Square, the list of the more bizarre requests made by residents and members of the public highlights just how many queries are not closely related to services offered by councils and the financial impact of dealing with them.
