LGA defends staff's six-figure salaries

The Local Government Association (LGA) has defended council chief executive salaries following the latest town hall ‘rich list’, published by the TaxPayers’ Alliance (TPA).

The Local Government Association (LGA) has defended council chief executive salaries following the latest town hall ‘rich list', published by the TaxPayers' Alliance (TPA).

Chancellor George Osborne said he would issue councils with new pay guidelines for senior staff after the reseach claimed thousands of council staff earned six-figure sums.
