The Local Government Association (LGA) could drop sector-led improvement as one of its key priorities next year, under plans to instead embed continued council development in the ‘fabric' of Smith Square's everyday work.

According to submissions to the LGA's leadership board, five current priorities could be whittled down to either four or three key messages from 2013/14.
