LGA to launch blueprint for next government

The Local Government Association has pledged to fix some of the major problems facing the country – with savings of £11bn – in exchange for devolution of powers and finances when the next government comes in.

The Local Government Association has pledged to fix some of the major problems facing the country – with savings of £11bn – in exchange for devolution of powers and finances when the next government comes in.

In a report to be launched at the LGA annual conference later today, the association has put forward a list of eight pledges including building half a million new homes, tackling the backlog of potholes and cutting unemployment and skills,
