LGA wants mail limit retained

The chairman of the Local Government Association has written to the Royal Mail asking it not to scrap junk mail limits.

Lord Bruce-Lockhart has written to Royal Mail chief executive, Adam Crozier, ‘expressing grave concerns for the council taxpayer and the environment', if limits on delivering junk mail are scrapped. The Royal Mail has signed a new deal with the Communication Workers' Union which could end the three items a week limit on junk mail. Temp shake-up to save £100m
