The Local Government Association (LGA) has shied away from calls for it to launch a ‘fight back’ against reorganisation though senior members criticised any top-down approach.

The Local Government Association (LGA) has shied away from calls for it to launch a ‘fight back' against reorganisation though senior members criticised any top-down approach.

With the devolution White Paper to be published this autumn expected to include plans for restructuring local institutions, including the creation of more mayors and unitary councils, there are fears in the sector that it will spark open warfare between tiers.
