Councils will start to fail their local communities if action is not taken to make their finances more stable, the Local Government Association (LGA) has warned.

Councils will start to fail their local communities if action is not taken to make their finances more stable, the Local Government Association (LGA) has warned.

In its submission to the Government in the run up to next month's spending review, the LGA claims up to 86 councils will reach a 'tipping point' and will be at risk of failing to meet their statutory obligations.
