LGA's legal threat over academy funding cuts

The Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) has just two weeks to act on education top-slice funding, or face a court battle with the Local Government Association (LGA).

The association has written to the DCLG, calling on a re-think to plans to cut cash from all councils to pay for back-office services for academy schools – regardless of whether the authority has an academy or not.
