Lib Dem Davey becomes new energy secretary

Liberal Democrat, Ed Davey, was confirmed as the new secretary of state to the Department for Energy and Climate Change today.

Liberal Democrat, Ed Davey, has been confirmed as the new secretary of state to the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) today, following the resignation of party colleague, Chris Huhne.

Mr Davey lists among his activities at Oxford University as being 'active in a campaigning environmental group' and deputy prime minister, Nick Clegg, has stated he has a 'lifelong commitment to the environment and green issues'.
