Chancellor Philip Hammond has received mixed news on the public finances in the first results to be published since he took over at the Treasury.

Chancellor Philip Hammond has received mixed news on the public finances in the first results to be published since he took over at the Treasury.

Latest figures for June 2016 showed the deficit is continuing its downward trend but total debt remains stubbornly high.
