Liverpool appoints first heritage preservation head

Alan Smith has been appointed to the newly-created role of head of heritage preservation and development at Liverpool City Council.

Alan Smith has been appointed to the newly-created role of head of heritage preservation and development at Liverpool City Council.

Mr Smith has been involved in the operations and management of the city's Grade I-listed St George's Hall since 2007 and will now also be responsible for the stewardship of the town hall and Croxteth Hall.
