Liverpool City Council has appointed administrators to a pharmaceutical company which was loaned £2m by the authority.

Liverpool City Council has appointed administrators to a pharmaceutical company which was loaned £2m by the authority.

The loan was granted to Cheshire-based cancer drug development company Redx Pharma in 2012 to enable it to expand its business in Liverpool. It was initially due to be repaid in 2015 but the council later agreed to extend the deadline by two years, to 31 March this year.
