Liverpool leads the way in creating a greener future for the city and beyond

Liverpool’s Parr Street multi-storey car park living wall project provides a green gateway in the most unlikely of urban areas, says Steve McIntyre.

Gaining Horizon 2020 URBAN GreenUP project funding in 2017, Liverpool City Council was provided the opportunity to retrofit, test and monitor a range of green infrastructure.

With a desire to create a green corridor across Liverpool's urban city that delivers on biodiversity, biophilia and air quality, the council set to work by transforming the most unlikely green build; Parr Street's multi-storey carpark, a typical hub for harmful vehicle emissions.
