Liverpool’s powerful new mayor, Joe Anderson, was among the local government recipients in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

Liverpool's powerful new mayor, Joe Anderson, was among the local government recipients in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.

The head of Liverpool City Council, a former leader under the authority's former councillor-led model, was made an OBE for services to local government, and said he was ‘surprised and humbled' to receive the honour.
