Liverpool City Council auditors have warned they will not be able to sign off the council’s accounts until police fraud investigations are complete.

Operation Aloft, the Merseyside Police investigation into development contracts in the city, led to the arrest of the former Mayor, Joe Anderson and former director of regeneration, Nick Kavanagh. Both men deny any wrongdoing.
