Cambridgeshire CC chief executive Mark Lloyd has been named as the new chief executive of the Local Government Association. 

Mr Lloyd was appointed to Cambridgeshire CC as chief executive in 2008. Prior to his appointment, Mr Lloyd held the top job at Durham County Council, after he successfully took the authority to unitary status during local government reorganisation.
