Local authorities get adoption funding boost

Ten councils around the country are to get a £2m boost to help adopted children settle into new homes.

Ten councils around the country are to get a £2m boost to help adopted children settle into new homes.

The new funding will help the local authorities test drive the new Adoption Support Fund, which gives families better access to essential services, such as behavioural therapy and support sessions.

Following this pilot scheme, a further £19.3m will be provided next year to roll out the Fund around the country.
