With five weeks to go until the local elections, preparations are well under way.

The logistical challenges of holding three polls – district, town and parishes, as well as the AV referendum – on the same day are being worked through and, as ever, the hard work and professionalism of the elections team and a huge number of staff from around the council will, I am sure, ensure a smooth operation on the day.
