Community and voluntary groups are being encouraged to bid for Essex CC's 2012/13 Big Society Fund, which is now open for bids.

The council handed out grants from its £1.4m fund to 93 different organisations last year, including parish councils, sailing clubs and youth groups, for a variety of different projects.
