Hertfordshire has been developing ways to give people a greater say in deciding their own local service priorities long before the Big Society, says Andrew Dawson.

Long before the emergence of the Government's ‘Big Society' agenda, Hertfordshire County Council developed a commitment to giving local people more say and control over local services under the title ‘Hertfordshire Local'.
