Councils will have greater financial responsibility for looking after young people who are remanded in custody, reinforcing the role of Youth Offending Teams. Frances Done explains.

Consultation has begun with local authorities on a series of measures being introduced under the new Legal Aid and Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act (LASPO).
