Plans to give more powers to neighbourhoods over developments are clashing with the Government’s growth drive, it has been claimed.

Plans to give more powers to neighbourhoods over local developments are clashing with the Government's drive for growth, and delaying the Localism Bill, a former minister has claimed.

Writing in The MJ this week, ex-local government minister, Nick Raynsford, argues that the Bill has been delayed because of behind-the-scenes rows over its planning powers, which could threaten its target of receiving Royal Assent in July.
