Michael Lockwood is poised to return as Harrow LBC chief executive, barely a year after the borough abolished the role, it has emerged.
Mr Lockwood, who is currently executive director for finance and policy at the Local Government Association, served as Harrow's chief executive from April 2007 until 2013 when the former Conservative-led administration axed the top post.
The decision to reappoint Mr Lockwood follows the decision made by Harrow's incoming Labour administration after success in May's local polls to reinstate the chief executive post. This followed a consultation of 5,000 Harrow staff, who voted for the restoration of the post by a 2 to 1 margin.
